1. How long does it take to receive an estimate? 

You will receive an estimate by email within one business day after your request.

2. What is the difference between translation and version?

Translation is considered here the process of translating from English and Spanish into Portuguese. Version is the translation from Portuguese and Spanish into English.

3. What is glossary creation?

It is the personalized creation of a hyperlinked glossary of the terminology or acronyms that your business uses. It helps uniformity of internal and external communication. It also assures uniformity of translated terms in future projects. Just send a brief description of the terms and definitions that you are looking for to have organized, the approximate volume and you will receive a quote within one business day.

4. How are the costs of service calculated? 

For most services, there is a fee per word, except in one-page documents when a fee per document is charged. The price per word of the final project is calculated according to type of service (translation, edition etc), field, level of complexity, format, volume, and deadline. For translation and version, the exact number of words depends on the language combination, since the final text can become longer or shorter than the original. For instance, from English into Portuguese there is a 20% average text increase. For proofreading and editing, there is a fee per hour. Just send me a request and I’ll take care of the rest for you.

5. How can I know the number of words of my project in Microsoft Word?

In the Microsoft Word program, you can find the number of words by opening the Tools menu and selecting Word Count. The Number of Words information will give the number of words of the original. For proofreading and editing, the number of words of the final project can increase or decrease according to the changes needed. For translation and version, the exact number of words depends on language combination, since the final text can become longer or shorter than the original. 6. How can I know the number of words of my project in Power Point? 

In the Microsoft Power Point program, you can find the number of words by opening the File menu, selecting Properties and finding Statistics. The number of Words will inform the number of words of the original. For proofreading and editing, the number of words of the final project can increase or decrease according to the changes needed. For translation and version, the exact number of words depends on language combination, since the final text can become longer or shorter than the original. 7. How can I send and receive my material?

Send your text by email in Word or Power Point format. If the text is in PDF format, a fee will be charged for converion into Word. The final project will be delivered to you by email or mail according to your preferences. All legal documents are certified and sent by mail with a free certified copy.

8. Are there any discounts for larger volumes?

My goal is to offer the best quality service and price for you to become a long-term relationship client. Please remember that there are other factors to be taken into consideration when setting the price for a project (see question 4). Just send a quote request with a brief description of your project, including size or frequency, and you will receive a personalized estimate within one business day. 9. I need to submit some documents, but the content is strictly confidential. What kind of protection do you have to offer me?

Confidentiality of information is the step stone of my business. You will receive 100% professional secrecy guaranteed by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). There will be no other people involved. My business is to make your business easier, and giving you peace of mind is one of my main goals.

10. Do you offer certified translation in English? 

Yes. All documents and legal papers are certified and come with a declaration of accuracy.

11. Do you offer translation for public agencies in Brazil? 

No. According to Brazilian laws, you will need a sworn translator in Brazil to have official documents accepted there. If you need help finding one, I will be happy to assist you.
